Gareth Bale Has Scored Tottenham’s Last Six Goals

Gareth Bale has now scored Tottenham’s last six goals. The in-form winger struck two beautifully taken free kicks in the 2-1 win over Lyon last night, and has 4 goals in his last 3 Premier League games.

From a Fantasy Premier League perspective, he is just 1 point off Michu and 6 points off Mata for the top scoring midfielder. His 6.9 points per game are better than both Michu’s and Mata’s returns.

That said, Bale is owned by 20% of fantasy managers while Mata (28%) and Walcott (24%) see significantly higher investment.

Perhaps the remaining 80% of fantasy managers will soon wake up to Bale’s Cristiano Ronaldo-esque world class talents. Tottenham are still missing Jermain Defoe through injury but Emmanuel Adebayor is back to combine with the world class Welshman in the coming weeks.

Perhaps he’ll end up at Real Madrid, Barcelona or Bayern Munich in 1-2 years time, but while we still have him in our (Fantasy) Premier League and not off on the continent, we should enjoy it while it lasts.

Three cheers for Gareth Bale.
