Wenger Reports: Arsenal Agree to Sell RVP to Manchester United

The deal has yet to be finalised but substantive reports are surfacing today that Arsene Wenger has agreed to sell Robin van Persie to Manchester United.

Previous reports suggested it would take up to £30M or more to pry RVP away from Arsenal, but it looks like £22M is the latest suggested price – and perhaps an agreement will be reached in the coming days.

If so, that would be an amazing bit of business for Sir Alex Ferguson – who purchased Dimitar Berbatov a few years ago from Tottenham for £30M.

RVP > Berbatov.

We’ll keep you updated, as always, as the news continues to unfold.

Fantasy wise that transfer will be pain in the ass :) Roo on pens but playing deeper, RVP no longer on pens making his price unreasonable, Kagawa potentially playing deeper and perhaps being rotated, same for Nani etc etc.

Completely agree with Adi’s comment. It’s not clear at all what Utd’s midfield is going to look like right now for the start….I have a feeling Fergie prefers the drive of Valencia, and perhaps prefers Nani over Young…so I’m expecting to see Nani on the left, Valencia on the right, with Clevs and Carrick or Kagawa and Carrick in the middle as his main 4…

Jones out with a back injury… Valencia most likely to start the season as a RB :(

Not many sure options at the back either, DDG at 6.0 might be the best bet after all. Ferdinand will see less gametime this season, while Vidic and Evra at 7.0 are a bit expensive.

@adi: It sure makes the United side a hard nut to crack, Fantasy wise. However, it could also mean that both RvP and Rooney are exciting picks, as teams will have to deal with both to keep United quiet.
