He hasn’t scored a goal yet this season in 7 league starts.
He hasn’t picked up an assist yet this season in 7 league starts.
He’s been stripped of the captaincy. Hell, he walked out on his own team and went to hang out at a bus stop – leaving the stadium at halftime after getting substituted on 45 minutes in a 6-0 loss to Fulham just last match.
But will that stop us from selecting Adel Taarabt as this week’s Funny Feeling Friday? Nope.
Despite coming off a 6-0 loss, and not even being guaranteed a start for his terrible behavior in their last match, Taarabt is still QPR’s most dangerous weapon. And Blackburn are not a great side. Armand Traore (LB) and Taarabt (ALM) should have a field day with Blackburn’s RB Salgado – who is just returning from injury. Manager Neil Warnock has said Taarabt can leave in January, if he wants, but will he really bench his most talented player coming off a 6-0 loss?
I think it’s a risk (both for fantasy managers) and Warnock – but one well worth taking. On penalties and free kicks, the Moroccan costs just 6.3M in the Fantasy Premier League game and is now owned by just 6% of fantasy managers. For comparison’s sake, Wolves’ Matt Jarvis costs the same price and is owned by nearly 22% of fantasy managers. Jarvis hasn’t delivered since August, and while neither has Taarabt, perhaps the stars are aligned for him this weekend.
After the Blackburn game, QPR have a derby with Chelsea at home, so if the skilled left-footed former Captain is to succeed in the near term, it looks like this weekend is the best opportunity.
Let’s cross our fingers that Warnock gives him the start, and perhaps he’ll combine with the likes of Bothroyd and SWP to put 2-3 past Steve Kean’s struggling men.
If history is a predictor of the future, he’ll continue firing up blanks this weekend. But he’s hit the post once or twice this season and his talent is too great to ignore despite his immature attitude, so there you go. Let’s take a chance on him starting and scoring.
Adel Taarabt, your hot-headed Funny Feeling Friday.

That’s bold. I was thinking he would be dropped by Warnock as a punishment for him walking out last Gameweek.
Good luck, and may your Friday be funny.
hopefully he plays and/or does something or he’s OUT OF THERE!
Instead, bring in SWP and captain him. That’s my Friday late evening funny feeling
