3 starts for Sunderland. Zero goals.
Yup, Nicklas Bendtner, the on-loan striker from Arsenal who thinks of himself as one of the world’s best, has been anything but that this season. But that won’t stop us from backing him this weekend at home to West Brom, despite Sunderland’s woeful attacking form.
Bendtner is owned by only 1% of fantasy managers, and comes in cheap at 6.4M.
Sure, Daniel Sturridge and Gabriel Agbonlahor are much better long term bets in that price range, but we’ve already covered those as FFF selections earlier this season.
Bendtner is truly a darkhorse, and he looked good for long periods despite the 2-1 loss to Norwich last gameweek. Only a few years ago, in the 2008-2009 season, he scored 9 league goals in just 1,700 minutes. That’s 18 league goals extrapolated out to a full season.
Can Bendtner re-discover that form? Perhaps. So there you have it. All week I was leaning to Saha against Liverpool as this week’s FFF – after all he’s only 6.9M and has yet to even start a match for Everton this season, much less score – so if he does, that would just be plain old epic - but I’m moving my chips into Niko Bendtner’s pot, and backing the Dane to produce the goods this weekend despite my heart telling me to go with the Frenchman…
There you have it. Niko Bendtner, your Funny Feeling Friday.

Good one there. This is turning into quite the excitement for me. I’m genuinely rooting for your FFFs like I do my team.
Good luck, and may the darkhorse be with you.
Thanks!
Ibra!
I have doubted you over the past weeks – but you have been right with Sturridge, Torres, Abong and a few other FFFs!
I shall take your advice this week – let’s hope it pays off!
Justified again!
finally, the prophecy has come true…
Thanks for the FFF. I reaped the rewards of faith.
Incredible! That’s 6 out of 7 this season
again!!!
HOLY SH!T.
you’ve done it again.
Ibra, you must be from the future with an Almanac of in-form fantasy players =)
Well done mate. Too bad Bentdner won’t play against Arsenal next week!
