A lot going on in Butt’s Brain in a jam-packed weekend of international qualifiers, friendlies, and quite a few notable injuries. Let’s take a quick look at some of the major talking points, in case you missed them:
- Leighton Baines has withdrawn from the England squad with a suspected hamstring injury. He’s surely a doubt for Everton’s next league game but we don’t know too much about the problem yet. Frustrating for fantasy managers who had hoped Baines will become a key offensive threat from set pieces now that Mikel Areta has moved to Arsenal.
- Meanwhile, Liverpool’s in-form midfielder Charlie Adam (9.1M in the Fantasy Premier League game) has been ruled out of Scotland’s qualifier this week with a hip injury, making him a doubt for Liverpool’s game this weekend.
- BIG news out of Manchester City as Carlos Tevez is “Happy” now in the city since his wife has moved there – which is TERRIBLE news for owners of Aguero and Dzeko. Who will start and who will sit? Furthermore, adding some complications to the spot for places at CB is Kolo Toure who is back to threaten Lescott’s place, (and to a lesser extent Kompany’s) thought it will be hard to break up that partnership… Fantasy managers need to monitor the City situation closely as rotation looks likely to creep in over the coming weeks.
- Aston Villa’s Darren Bent also has a groin injury – and his status is uncertain, while quite a few Premier League players featured for their national teams this past weekend, many of them scoring. Summaries can be seen at EPL Talk here.

I have no idea what to do:
nasri or mata???? City is better right now and nasri has PL experience, but he could rotate considering CL and city´s huge squad. Mata showed good stuff and Chelsea has few players like him that could get the assists and goals of the team, but Chelsea is not playing good at the moment. I already have silva by the way.
ward or woodgate?? ward is evidently a more offensive player, but I have the feeling that stoke could get more clean sheets.
thoughts???
