Funny Feeling Friday: Roque Santa Cruz

01 roque santa Cruz Funny Feeling Friday: Roque Santa Cruz

You won’t buy him, I’m sure of it – just like you didn’t buy Sylvan Ebanks-Blake last weekend, but he could certainly score, just as SEB did and prove the doubters wrong…

Again, major caveat here: This is a HUNCH column about a player that is unpopular, out of sorts, out of form, etc. from a fantasy perspective. There are much better bargain striker options in the game – Sturridge, Zamora, etc. Hell, Blackburn’s own Hoilett is a great one.

But back to Santa Cruz. He’s 6.5M and owned by 0% of fantasy managers. He has not scored a single league goal this year. Not a single goal.

He does not have a single assist. Not one.

Not a single bonus point. Not one.

What does he have? 3 of his next 4 matches at home. A goalscoring record that boasts 19 league goals back in 2007-2008 and a chance to help Blackburn avoid the drop.

Birmingham this week and Everton next week. That’s two chances to find the back of the net. I think RSC does it.

There you go. Your Funny Feeling Friday. Roque Santa Cruz.
