Funny Feeling Friday: Johan Djourou

Johan Djourou Funny Feeling Friday: Johan Djourou

Late fitness test good enough for FFF?

This one is a big risk, but hear me out.

Yes Arsenal take on Liverpool and Tottenham this week – two sides who can score. Two very diffficult sides to keep clean sheets against.

Yes Johan Djourou has been out for a month with a dislocated shoulder and he’s only rated as 50-50 for the match this weekend (at the time of writing).

But here’s the good news – Djourou is your new ‘Chris Smalling’ for this double gameweek. A 4.0M defender for a Top 4 side? Unheard of.

Whilst fantasy managers are rushing to pick up Roger Johnson and Liam Ridgewell for Birmingham’s double gameweek, they are leaving Djourou, almost 2M cheaper, on the table. That’s silly, in my opinion.

Especially silly if Arsenal get the boost of starting ‘keeper Szczesny back in goal Sunday against Liverpool. With Szczesny behind him, Djourou could pick up a clean sheet in one of the next two matches. At 4M can you really ask for more?

So there you have it. Your cheap FFF, it’s Johan Djourou, Switzerland’s cheapest commodity – and your Funny Feeling Friday.

Good luck to all managers.
