Funny Feeling Friday: Gareth Bale

gareth bale Funny Feeling Friday: Gareth Bale

I don’t really need to write much about this lad. Over the past year he’s proven himself to be one of the best Fantasy Premier League players around. He’s cheap as chips (6.9M) and hasn’t started in the league since January.

I think that changes this week or next – against West Ham or Wigan – two winnable opponents.

Let’s take a risk and say it’s this week. Is there anyone else in the game you’d rather own in a midfield position with about 7M to spend? Charlie Adam, maybe? Nolan or Parker, perhaps?

Nope, I think it’s Bale.

He could be back to his best against a West Ham team who are compact in the middle but susceptible to attacks from the wings due to mediocre full-back play. Dealing with crosses have not been West Ham’s strong suit this year and the likes of Bale, Defoe, Crouch, VDV, and Modric should take advantage this weekend.

Look for 60 minutes from Bale and an assist.

He’s your Funny Feeling Friday.

    Hey Nickybutt,
I’ve been trying to find a good midfielder b/c i’ve got several injured. is Duff from Fulham real? He’s been throwing up good numbers since january. should i? b/c I really want to.

    • Manamongst says:

I’d say Duff, and about 9-10 other cheapies are better than Bale this week (O’Hara?) including Der Hammer aka Putie Foot Hitz…

Now with Gareth, of course he can put up 12 fantasy points in that 60 minutes…but is it likely…not this week.

  2. adi says:

Charlie Adam over Bale any day.

  3. Mell says:

Bale is not 100%, O’hara & Hitzslperger are away but they have the hunger on their side, I agree with adi to give Charlie Adam my vote. Fitter than ever after a long rest (suspended) against relegation rival Rovers and that a recipe for premiership fireworks!

  4. Fitzaldo says:

Spurs will win though, and bale usually plays well when they do.

  5. ben says:

unlucky (or maybe just great hands by green) bale didnt sink his free kick

  6. ben says:

i will say, although i felt it was unlucky bale didnt score, i didnt have him on my team. did, however, have adams. ill bleed anything for my spurs to get champs league next year, but….bah. i hate to say they’re not looking all too hot in league play, as of recent. (including glory glory bale)
