Fans of the UEFA Champions League should be a little more than excited about next week’s footie matches, especially if they’re of the betting ilk.
For fantasy news, up-to-the-minute player shuffling reports, League implications, or anything with a real fan angle, this article may not seem very in depth or geared toward your sensibilities. But if you not only love footie but also love to make a few bucks while enjoying the matches, we’ll go over the best matchup of the coming week and give you the low-down on the lines and who you should pick to rule the day.
There are a few exciting matches to played, but AC Milan vs. Tottenham is probably the sleeper for match of the month.
This is primed to be a fantastic matchup between two clubs playing great ball. Milan is currently atop the Serie A leader board and is holding onto the second spot in Group G of the Champions League. Tottenham is also playing well, out in front by a thread in Group A. The Hotspur is hot!
Because of players on AC Milan like Andrea Pirlo and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Tottenham is pulling up the rear with underdog status. But at home Tottenham is an incredibly difficult team, proving their worth this season. They’re able to pass efficiently and beautifully, and the supportive crowd makes it difficult for any visitor to focus.
Along with Tottenham’s new additions, Van der Vaart for a quick example, these players are making an impact and, unlike years past, are looking to make their presence felt throughout the league.
Milan’s Cassano, Robinho, Ibrahimovic and Pirlo vs. the Hotspur’s Bale, Gomes, Van der Vaart and Pavlyunchenko will be a true match of skilled warriors out there. It will be a game that comes down to the team making fewer mistakes, and all things being equal, Tottenham is probably the team to make them as evidenced by a few earlier games.
The top UK casinos online and other sports books all have this one going AC Milan’s way, with a line of -135 vs. Tottenham’s +340.
Taking AC is the smart move here. The game should be very exciting, probably the best matchup going next week, but in the end it seems a stretch that Hotspur can play the type of clean and enthusiastic footie needed to best an opponent of Milan’s caliber, even if they are playing at home.
Valencia over FC Schalke and AS Roma over Shakhtar Donetsk for straight wins are also relatively safe bets for fairly good matchups next week. They would be wise wagers if you wanted to hedge your bets.
Overall, though, AC Milan vs. Tottenham should be the best game going, and putting your money down on Milan instead of wasting it playing real money blackjack or slots is probably the best investment you could make.
