Messi Wins the Ballon d’Or

Messi won the Ballon d’Or last night – he was named the best player in the world in 2010.

Not Xavi. Not Iniesta. Not Sneijder. And not a single (Fantasy) Premier League player in sight.

La Liga’s dominance continues on the world stage as the playground for footie’s finest stars. The Premier League may be the most exciting league from top to bottom in the world – but when it comes to star power, Spain triumphs yet again.

Although my opinion here as Argentinian might be less valid, I thing he tottally deserves it.
If you’d like to awar a football philosophy, then the prize candidate could be xavi.
If you want to honour a great goal at great world event, then Iniesta is your guy.
If you are simply looking for the best player of the world, there are no doubts there.

On the other hand, as for 201o’s best eleven, I think Villa is overrated.. Drogba deserved that spot

PS: Ibra, the award for Messi was for what he’d done in 2010, and the video is from 2009 :/ hehe

  2. christopher hooper says:

That video was lacking on some spectacular goals, ei. The Great Arsenal slalom and others of the caliber that show the real unstoppable natural of the little one. but he’s definitely the great player in the world. I only wish he’d shown that better in the World Cup.

  3. TD Ocho says:

Sneijder or Xavi for me. We’re talking 2010′s *best* player, not necessarily the most talented player.

  4. adi says:

The worst player in history to win that award. Failed at every possible occasion in 2010, in Champions League 37yo defender made him look invisible and despite playing it selfish from the start to the end, he failed to even score once at the World Cup.

  5. Mell says:

haha great assessment adi, he is indeed a very talented player but a bit flop at the World Cup, can we blame it on Maradona? Barcelona drubbing with his goals seemed like a formality nowadays. I agree with some report, an Inter Milan player who got a treble in 2010 who previously won everything at Barca should get some vote e g Etoo, but maybe his volatile attitude was the cause for concern. The media really help these guys, the most popular will win the most vote though including current performance

  6. Eva says:

I feel raelly lucky to be alive in the time of this genius. He is truly the King. ALL HAIL KING LEO!Ronaldo: God sent me to play football!Messi : Huh, that’s weird. I didn’t send anyone.
