Interesting how it has played out GH. I i recall, one of the stated "concerns" going in was that Landon would end up getting hurt.
a shame that his loan period ends in just a few weeks… he's playing with such confidence at the moment (how in the world is he taking corner kicks over Arteta?!?!) and he'll just have to return to LA to play alongside his recent college graduates, 23 year olds with a first touch worse than Eboue's, who are making 38K a year and sharing apartments in Redondo Beach, CA.
Ibra, Do you know if there is any possibility that the loan period is extended? Frankly, it was smart of Landon to only commit until the start of MLS, because he could have no assurance about playing time and it would have been very bad in terms of World Cup prep to not get any significant playing time during April and May. But, seeing how he's been received and how he's performed, it would appear those risks are diminished if not non-existent and it would be great if he could stay.
Further to Landon's credit, he has come in during a pretty rough run of games for Everton. The schedule lightens up about the time he's supposed to return…..
will ask around. Tomorrow is the Soccer Expo in Los Angeles and I may head over there and see the likes of Eric Wynalda and others and some colleagues in the soccer / journalism out there may know the inside details…. I doubt the Galaxy want him to stay longer – but the US Camps and friendlies (I assume) will be in Europe so I bet he would LOVE to stay…
