He sat a bit deeper than Lampard but saw just as much of the ball, if not more – than Frank did. Quick, short passes – as the “engine” of the team – spraying it wide to Malouda / Ballack and forward to Anelka / Sturridge. There was a Schevchenko sighting, too.
