  • Chelsea get the pre-season under way with a 2-0 win over Seattle. Watched this one and was impressed with Deco. He sat a bit deeper than Lampard but saw just as much of the ball, if not more – than Frank did. Quick, short passes – as the “engine” of the team – spraying it wide to Malouda / Ballack and forward to Anelka / Sturridge. There was a Schevchenko sighting, too. The Ukrainian played the second half. New signing Zhirkov did not feature. [Goal]
  • Manchester United open up their pre-season with Rooney running the show and Owen scoring on his debut. [101 great goals]
  • Old news but now it’s official. Adebayor to City transfer completed. [In the Stands]
  • Tottenham close to signing Peter Crouch from Portsmouth. Crouch will be reunited with former Pompey manager Harry Redknapp and former strike partner Jermain Defoe. Where will club captain Robbie Keane play? Withdrawn? [Telegraph]

Ha. I've seen some comparisons to Star Trek uniforms… They definitely don't look "sleek."
