Butt’s Brain: News Briefs

44584959 petrov3 afp300 Butts Brain: News BriefsA few quick random news items/thoughts to hold you over until The Champions League kicks off in a few minutes:

  • Martin Petrov is back with a vengeance. In my opinion, Petrov was the best crosser in the EPL in 2007-2008. His pace and precise passing on the flank were a joy to behold. As a midfield player myself, I have a big soft spot for his excellent vision, work rate, and distribution. He’s been out for 6 months, but should return to City’s lineup this week after impressing in the reserves. Petrov is valued at 6.9M and I wonder how this will affect Ireland, SWP, and Robinho in terms of fantasy production.
  • Should Tim Cahill fantasy footie owners be worried? Everton have scored 7 goals in the last four matches Cahill (8.0M) has featured in, but Cahill has not scored one goal in those four matches… Meanwhile the much cheaper Screech Powers Fellaini (6.6M) seems to have taken over the second striker / attacking midfielder support role alongside Jo. Cahill is now playing much deeper in the center of the pitch… To make matters even worse, Everton are on the road in their next two (Aston Villa and Chelsea).

ahh tim cahill is annoying me, is it really worth swapping him for fellaini. jo seems to do well at home.. or if it makes sense… cahill as long as he plays is still bound to score points till the end of the season with many of the fixtures there. this is random but anyway.
