24-year-old Kagiso Dikgacoi is set to join Fulham next week pending the approval of a British work permit. The strong South African central midfielder impressed Roy Hodgson on trial at Craven Cottage over the summer and his arrival further fuels the Jimmy Bullard January Transfer speculation.
Dikgacoi is a classic “Makelele” midfielder, strong in the tackle and superb in distribution, so though he will probably not become an offensive fantasy factor (priced perhaps at 5.0M in the official game) he could start right behind Murphy and Bullard (if he decides to stay) and give the two attacking players even more creative freedom.
An interesting development. With South African players enjoying some success in the Premier League (Benny McCarthy and Aaron Mokoena at Blackburn and Steven Pienaar at Everton), perhaps Bafana Bafana will be a competitive side when they host the World Cup in 2010.
